Carolyn’s House is a 19-apartment supportive housing program for homeless women and children operated by the YWCA of Niagara. Located in Niagara Falls, N.Y., Carolyn's House opened its doors in August 2005 and has provided housing to more than 100 women and 100 children throughout Western New York and other parts of the state. Residents must meet financial eligibility requirements to qual...ify for housing.
Carolyn's House is more than just a place to live. The programs offered at Carolyn’s House help women gain stability in their lives while preparing for economic self-sufficiency. Currently, Carolyn’s House offers daily GED instruction, on-site vocational programs featuring the YWCA of Niagara's own Culinary Arts Institute, a variety of life skills programs, pre-college workshops and assistance with college enrollment for qualified residents.
Carolyn's House is named after the late Carolyn Van Schaik of Niagara Falls, who was dedicated to improving the lives of women and children.
