Having 19 studio albums, 5 live albums, 5 compilations, 4 live DVD’s, 1 interactive CD and a recently
celebrated 30 year anniversary to their credit, it comes as no surprise to band members: Ian Crichton,
Jim Crichton, Jim Gilmour and Brian Doerner, that Michael Sadler has decided to return to his first love
of music, and put his retirement plans on the shelf.
Originally known as The Pockets, SAGA formed in 1977 from the nucleus of the popular Canadian rock
band, Fludd. In June of 78, they released their self-titled debut album. Although a modest success in
their homeland of Canada, it went on to sell over 50,000 copies in Germany as an import and
establishing SAGA as a serious progressive rock contender.
2011 sees the band with a new record deal with Edel AG Records of Germany and a new album stated
for release this spring. To commemorate this new deal, the band has decided to embark on a long
awaited North American tour with the Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls, NY as the first of many stops
along the way.
